WOOD STOVES : WHERE position them

WOOD STOVES : WHERE position them
Very important aspect to consider when you decide to buy a wood stove is the location within the home, which is to installed.

Much more will be installed in a central position of the house and the more able to evenly heat all the rooms. Traditionally, however, the chimneys are built along the outer walls, and this evil lends itself to a better heat distribution.

So if you have the opportunity to take advantage of a chimney in a more central position, do not hesitate to exploit it by placing the stove near it.

The fact of being able to shift the stove to an inner wall (masonry) instead of at an outside, also will take advantage of all the heat (and not cheap ...) emitted from the back of the stove.
In this way, it slowly warm the wall that will be the accumulation and then shine forth for a long time (even after switching off the stove) on both surfaces, using the same principle of stoves built with slabs of soapstone / soapstone. Seeing is believing.

It 'also important to be aware that a heater positioned near a staircase that leads upstairs, inevitably will warm much less the environment because of the "flight" of warm air into the room above. This is not always a bad thing, the important thing is to think about it first.

As latest tips keep in mind that the stove will be placed close enough (at least 90cm) in furniture or sofas and weighs a lot, even several hundred pounds ...
Please also observe the minimum distances (specified for each heater) to keep from walls of flammable material (eg wood). If then the heater rests on a flammable floor, it is imperative to use a base (metal, glass, stone, etc.) That it protrudes at least 30cm compared to the front surface of the stove and at least 15cm sideways.
